Hippo expands Caregiver capability to multiply capacity

The Hippo Virtual Care headset delivers a “through the eyes of a clinician” viewpoint.

The Hippo Virtual Care platform allows care collaborators to communicate and access health information in real-time.

Health Systems are implementing Physician Extender programs to improve physician coverage and productivity across the health system

Many physicians are reticent to use Clinician Extenders due to concerns about effective Training, Proctoring, Consulting, Collaborating and Emergency Support

Clinician Extenders are skilled clinicians working at the top of their license by collaborating with physicians remotely, especially specialty physicians

Hippo provides a Remote "U-See what I-See" workflow solution that allows a physician real-time access to a Clinician Extender and their patient as if they were physically in the room

"Hippo allows us to extend our specialty services into the community, into the home, saving time, cost, and improving access to quality care whenever and wherever patients need it."

Hippo Virtual Care adds seamless integration into clinical workflow across the Health System Continuum

For First Responders

A First Responder (Police, Fire Rescue, or EMT technician) uses telehealth guided by an ER physician to assess and treat patients on the scene. Early intervention with lifesaving drugs, treatment, and preparation can greatly improve the quality of care and outcomes.

Result: EMT reduced cost of $223 per call due to reduced patient transport, reduced ER charges of more than $2,000 for one-third of patient transports (eliminated by point-of-care treatment), reduced ER load, and increased patient and physician satisfaction.

For Long-Term Care

Using Hippo Virtual Care, Medical Directors and specialist physicians can consult remotely with long-term care and nursing home nurses and care aides working with a patient to improve early detection and intervention for deteriorating chronic conditions. Family members can also be included to improve family awareness of patient conditions.

Result: Implementing bedside access of patients by specialists using remote virtual care can save an average nursing home $11K annually with reduced emergency and hospital admissions.

For Home Health

Physicians can remotely assess and intervene in patient care at home working with a caregiver with a virtual care headset at the point of care. By detecting and alerting physicians to changing patient conditions, clinicians can intervene quickly to adjust patient care.

Result: Virtual Care in the home can greatly reduce medical loss by intervening early on patient issues. If the 5% of High Use patients could decrease one acute care episode a year it would impact national healthcare costs by 10% and lead to happy, healthier lives for patients.
